Cleaning Process

We try our very best to anticipate the standard questions you might have about our carpet cleaning and restoration services, and have provided clear and concise answers on this website. In addition, we have provided you with a step-by-step guide on how we go about most of our cleaning services.

The following information is not meant to be an absolute, complete “how to guide” or an intricately extensive explanation of all carpet cleaning techniques or processes that are offered by us. This is merely a compilation of answers to frequently asked questions by clients (coupled with straight-forward answers) about our basic cleaning procedure. It’s also a place to put the spot-light on sales techniques you should be aware of when shopping around to find just the right carpet cleaning and restoration company to serve you. Basically, you can use this carpet cleaning guide to compare it to other carpet cleaning companies’ procedures.

If you feel you need any additional information, don’t hesitate to send us an e-mail. We’ll be happy to answer back as soon as we possibly can. Before you send us an e-mail, please scan this page, as well as the FAQ page to see if your question(s) has already been covered on this website.

Step 1: Pre-Inspection
Every great carpet cleaning and restoration company starts with a proper, precise carpet, rug, tile or upholstery pre-inspection. The pre-inspection is key, as it will allow us to properly set up a plan to service your carpet, tile or upholstery. This is your time to inform us of your heaviest concerns; we will inspect your particular areas of concern as well as note carpet construction, and soiling conditions. We will also inform you of any possible permanent staining on the horizon, so that there will be no surprises at all. Remember: not all stains can be removed completely, and a carpet cleaning company that claims they can remove all stains is not trustworthy or professional.

Step 2: Pre-Vacuum
If appropriate for the situation, your carpet will be promptly pre-vacuumed to remove bonded dry soil, making the main cleaning methods run smoother. This pre-cleaning will help more of the dirt and debris to be cleaned up during the main cleaning part of the procedure. This is in addition to the vacuuming that takes place throughout the entire length of the cleaning process.

Step 3: Furniture Moving (optional)
By request of the client, sofas, chairs, tables, and any other furniture that is of appropriate size will be carefully moved by our able hands. Larger pieces, such as beds, dressers, entertainment centers, china cabinets and other liability-prone items are left in place under our regular pricing structure. Your furniture will be well-protected with disposable blocks and tabs as needed.

Step 4: Pre-Condition & Pre-Spot Treatment
Traffic areas and spots are pre-treated for more effective soil and spot removal. This will ensure that the soil and spots will be lifted, and the most thorough cleaning will be utilized for the job. Not even a small stain will escape our view, as we strive for perfection in our cleaning process. Remember: even with pre-spot treatment there are some spots/stains that cannot be removed completely.

Step 5: Pre-Groom
Depending on the soil level of your carpet, the carpet will be pre-groomed with a carpet groomer to further loosen traffic area soiling. Again, this will help with the main cleaning process, as this act is to ensure that the main cleaning process will be highly effective.

Step 6: Extract & Rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the-art truck-mounted hot water extraction machine will thoroughly rinse the carpet pile. Pressure and heat are regulated so that carpet is not overly-wet. We will then rinse your carpet with specially treated water at the cleansing temperatures ranging between 60-235 degrees, depending on the fiber content and soiling condition of the carpet. This step also improves the quality of the air in your living space by removing the pollens, pollutants, and dust mites, etc. from the carpet, making your home a safer place to be.

Step 7: Neutralize
Every carpet that we clean is rinsed with a PH balanced product so that there is never a sticky residue left behind. If there is residue left behind, there may be more problems that will occur with your carpet in the future. This is a very important step that is either overlooked or neglected by other carpet cleaners; either that or they lack the knowledge to attend to the matter.

Step 8: Post Spot Treatment
If any spots are not removed during the main cleaning process, specialty-spotting techniques are employed after a thorough cleaning to get rid of all the stubborn spots that were not lifted. We will do the best we can to make sure every single spot is treated, utilizing the best of our knowledge and equipment.

Note: This excludes permanent stains that are identified in the pre-inspection part of the procedure.

Step 9: Carpet Protector (optional, but recommended)
Carpets protected with Maxim Advanced or DuPont’s Teflon last longer, clean up easier and stay clean longer.  Overall, the carpet protectors prolong the durability and life of your carpet. We offer carpet protectors as an option, but it is up to you to ultimately decide if you want us to apply it or not.

Step 10: Post Inspection
After we are through with the job, we encourage you to take a walk through your home or business office(s), using the plastic boots we provide to inspect our work and make sure that we’ve met your standards. If you’re satisfied, let us know, and if not, we’ll do whatever we can to make sure that you are. At the end of the post-inspection, we will ask that you sign our service invoice.

Please Note!

Before Your Carpeting Is Cleaned:

Please remove any items that are fragile or breakable, as well as any knick-knacks and loose items from tables and other pieces that will be moved by myself and other technicians. If there is a large amount of small items such as boxes, magazines, shoes, etc, please remove these items if you want the carpet cleaned in these areas. Additionally, please arrange for children and/or pets to stay clear from the area that we are cleaning, and away from all equipment, hoses, etc. to ensure efficiency of the cleaning, and more importantly their safety.

After Your Carpeting is Cleaned:

Be extra careful walking from carpet to hard surfaces! Floors can be very slippery, so please step from carpet to hard surfaces with caution. Keep pets and children off of the carpet for at least 3 hours. Finally, leave the blocks and tabs alone for 24 hours after your carpet is cleaned.
